I built a webpage for showing various weather images for the US that are customized for viewing on handhelds like the n770/n800. The link is:

http://www.datasink.com/mobileradar.html

The fonts and simplicity of the page make it easy to see on handhelds but it looks terrible on desktop computers.

You can see composite radar images of the United States (both static and animated) as well as, regional static images of 16 sections of the country. The images are generally updated every 5 minutes but you have to reload to see them. The source of these images are intellicast.com and wunderground.com. I just make it easy to get to the images without having to wade through very busy pages. The more elaborate site appropriate for desktops is:
http://www.datasink.com/cgi-bin/compositeRadar.cgi

Please let me know if you have any problems or suggestions for the page. I hope the 5x4 grid representing regions of the country makes sense.

PS: only someone in the US would understand how monitoring the weather is a preoccupation during tornado and hurricane seasons. We can get very violent weather.

Any chance on getting Hawaii in there, too? I live on O'ahu.

http://radblast.wunderground.com/cgi...min=1&delay=30

is the image for O'ahu, Moloka'i and Lana'i, Maui and Kaho'olawe, but it's not a simple url like the A1, D3, etc ones that are already there.

It's there now. I put it at the bottom of the table. I guess I could put Alaska next to it. Try it out. Thanks for the link.

I just finished a new weather related page that shows up well on the n800.

http://www.datasink.com/noaa.html

This will take you to a comprehensive list of weather stations ordered by state. By clicking on the station code for a particular location, you will then get a freshly generated page that gives the last 24 hours of weather data along with plots for temperature, pressure, and wind speed. You will also be given the average wind speed for the last 24 hours. (That was my initial motivation because I am interested in available wind for wind turbines).

If you like a particular station report, you can bookmark it and revisit it hourly to see how the weather is developing.
