I generally leave my 770 switched on all the time (just turning the cover round when finished), but lately when going back to it after the previous day's use, I'm finding it turned off and I have to power up from scratch again. Am I missing something basic?

Hmmm... I've experienced this too. Battery is naturally full when I reboot, so its not a battery shortage problem. I for one would also like to know why this happens. Seems like most of the time it's not an issue, but it occurs intermittently.
