I'm looking into getting a bluetooth keyboard for my n800. I've been trying to research the keyboards by reading various threads in this forum. I've seen references to several keyboards. Some are mentioned repeatedly and some are mentioned in passing. Some of them may actually be the same and I'm having trouble sorting it all out.

Here is a list of keyboards that I've seen referenced:
  • Apple
  • Laser Virtual
  • Brando mini
  • ComOne
  • Dell Stowaway Ultra
  • Foldable
  • Freedom Mini
  • Freedom Mini DUO
  • Freedom Universal
  • Freedom/Level1
  • FrogPad
  • HP
  • iGo/Thinkoutside Stowaway/Dell Stowaway Ultra/Palm
  • Logitech diNovo Edge
  • Microsoft Elite
  • Nokia (SU-8w)
  • Stowaway Sierra
  • Stowaway Ultraslim
  • stowaway universal
  • stowaway xtbtue
  • UBiQUiO Folding

Of these the Brando and Freedom Mini keyboards seem to be most like what I'm looking for but they are also the ones I'm having the hardest time finding out more about.

I'd like to try and gather in one place a list of keyboards which are known to work (or not to) and other information about them (i.e. are they hid keyboards)

Perhaps a list could be maintained in the wiki.

I am supprised it's not in the wiki but I haven't looked. I have the iGo ultraslim and its the same as the stowaway. The only bad review I heard is the folding can crimp the ribbon and render the keyboard useless but I haven't experianced this. Except this the only problem is the mapping. The benefits are that it's small, has a case, easily pairs with the n800.

I have the dell bluetooth keyboard, its fine, except for the fact that the "/" key is to the right of the right arrow key, and the left arrow key is in it's place.

This always trips me up when typing paths/url's Although I'm getting used to it, its really annoying!

Well, it seems appropriate to this thread, so here is my question: I have installed os08 and discovered that the keyboard does not work, or at least is hasn't so far. It's definitely paired and I've selected the 'generic' keyboard but in apps it simply doesn't respond. The light is on and it claims to be paired.

Previously I had to turn bluetooth off to get the virtual keyboard to return (there'a a thread about that!) but now it is the other way around: it can't seem to be replaced! Any ideas?

Did I read in one of the threads that the dell bluetooth keyboard is a clone of one of the stowaways?

It looks like I can edit the wiki now so I've copied everything over.
