I'm relatively new to the maemo and n900 community but rest assured I love my n900! So much that I normally wait until applications have been release in their stable state to install on my device.

Lately I find myself more and more inclined to install the CSSU but it ain't stable for now. My question is, despite it not being 'officially' released, am I good to go to download and run it on my n900 without much headache afterward or should I wait a little longer?

This question is directed to the more savvy and experienced users of the community. Appreciate your time guys.

Thanks.

Do it. Runs fine.

Might want to read up on it a bit more though.

Works great for me!

The only unstable-ness I've encountered is modest crashing from time to time.

I'm a fairly basic user as far as the N900 goes and I've had the CSSU on since the start without any problems. I do hold off on installing updates for a day or two though while I check the forum.

CSSU implemented on the N900 is making me wanna live forever or die with my N900 buried with me.

The savior that makes everything good is Backupmenu. If anything gets messed up, you can always reinstall everything as original in just a few minutes. So I would say yes, install CSSU, but just to be on the safe side, install Backupmenu and back up everything first. It's not so much because of CSSU, which seems perfectly safe to me, but just a good general precaution.
