See the process below
To use Windows (XP, Vista, 7) to copy the image to your Micro SDHC card, you will need to make sure:

You can unpackage the image file. To do this you will need a compression utility, like 7-Zip http://7zip.com
You have an image writer utility, like Win32DiskImager.exe
https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download
Using your preferred compression utility, extract the contents of the downloaded image. Once uncompressed, you will have a named directory containing the MeeGo Handset Images.

Once you have extracted and located the image you wish to install, use your preferred image writer to write the image to your Micro SD card. Here’s an example of the process you may follow to use the W32DiskImager:

Run W32DiskImager.exe.
Select the desired MeeGo Handset Image.
Select the drive letter for your Micro SDHC card.
Click the “Write” button to start writing the MeeGo Handset Image to the Micro SDHC card.

You should down load the image available in
http://repository.maemo.org/meego/n9...de-acceptance/
The image with extension raw.bz2

You also need to download and install uboot for PR 1.3 from extras-devel

Hope this helps

Looks good. But really slow when opening applications.
1. UI is smooth.
2. Fennec is slow.
3. Camera needs improvement. Its like a VGA cam picture. Also observed that somehow the cam is not taking the picture infront of lens. it kind of moves the image a little bit right. wierd but u got a try to see wat i mean
4. Wifi connects without a problem
5. Recognized my network
6. Was able to send SMS
7. Was able to make a call but sound is too low
8. Music player is basic but volume is low again
9. picture app has no data. so cldnt check
10. Changeable wall papers and themes
11. battery meter is working fine
12. No lock screen. when we press lock button it shuts of display
13. Did not see how i can turn it off. Had to do a long press to shut the system down
14. Applications are opening very very slow. May be because of SD card
15.. Calender opens a blank screen with bunch of options.
16. Video player is not complete
17. multitasking works good
18. virtual keypad blinks when trying to open. it doesnt even give us a chance to select a character. so needs tweaking

Dont suggest installing for noobs except for the fun and excitement of meego.

Seems ctrl + shift +p is not working to take screenshots. if someone knows a better process let me know. i will post some.

I have tried the Meego 1.2 RC2 release 04/05/11.
It seemed far more stable than the dev edition 1.2

I would suggest you wait untill Apr 28th. We are expected to get a stable version by then
