Ok thp just made a new package so should be up shortly.
http://maemo.org/packages/view/panucci

Outside of what you can see there is now a panucci .conf settings file in ~/.config/panucci. And all settings in the menu is persistentlty saved in panucci-noedit.conf which as you may guess shouldn't be edit manually.

There is also a Qt gui which you can try with the --qt switch and you can also set it as default in panucci.conf. So panucci would probably already work on Harmattan. A very very special thanks to helmuth, without his help this realease wouldn't been possible to make. And the problems with the gpodder integration should be fixed too.

Forgot to mention, there is a sleep timer dialog now in the menu that isn't tested on n900. If it doesn't work as expected let me know. And there was a suggestion about fm transmitter and headphone daemon here:
http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...anucci/0.99.1/

I found an old mail from thp with some code for the fm transmitter so that might work already. It's in the main menu, If it's not working fix it and give the fix to me. About the headphone daemon I've no clue. If anyone knows how to fix it let me know.

headphoned expects Panucci to be at org.panucci.panucciInterface and have the object at /panucciInterface to have a "pause" method that will be called when the headphones are unplugged. It's happening via D-Bus; you can see the code at:

Hmm, there is a pause method already that seems to work just fine.

Code:
dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=org.panucci.panucciInterface /panucciInterface org.panucci.panucciInterface.pause

Yep, just tested that. headphoned still works well with Panucci 0.99.1. I haven't tried with older releases. So no need to fix that.

Hmmm, in my setup it does not work, at least not completely as before:

Panucci correctly enters pause mode as I unplug my headphone. But it does not start when I plug the headphone.

Yes, I would say it works as expected.

If you remove the headphone it should stop. (the same with Bluetooth) - But should it automatically start to play if you reconnect?

Perhaps with normal Headphones. But I wouldn't like it. And at Bluetooth headsets it shouldn't. But perhaps it's only me.

Hi xerxes2!

Sorry for the late reply. It works as expected. Tanks!

The Dialog itself doesn't look very well. But I tested it only with the gtk version so far. - What about a horizontal, perhaps logarithmical Slider?

Thanks a lot for your hard work on this great player. I hope you could enjoy it yourself as soon as possible.

If this was an intended change, OK.

For me it was a more useful feature as it was in former releases: If I got disturbed and needed attention I just unplugged the headphone. As this was over I reconnected it and continued to listen to my audio books.

Yes, I understand. The usecases are often very differnet.

But I wonder if this is good for your Headphone Connector in the long therm...

Have you ever considered to use a Bluetooth Stereo Headset with a Play/Pause button?
Personally I love the cordless freedom. And I can put my N900 in my pocket.
