Hi Friend,
"Nothing" is really supposed to happen. Though you'd notice at the top bar that there's an animated asterisk. It means that x11vnc is waiting for you to start up your VNC app from your computer and click "Connect" from there.You have a few seconds to do it (about 15-20) so make sure that you are ready to click on "Connect" before tapping on x11vnc from your N900.
I'll watch the video too. By the way I shared a video as well for NITDroid (Gingerbread) installation. It's in the first post of the "Grand Nitdroid Thread". Might be doing the same for Vostok when I have the time.
