N900's prototype looked pretty much like N900, but it had sharper edges and was slightly larger.

actually that was a proper n900 housing fitted in a bulky housing so you could not see what the actual device will look like

I don't know what paper-flash-high fidelity means, but quoted from
the project page of the compass application you linked:
There is no magenetometer for the N900.

but still this compass application should run in a qt-ubuntu set up..is it running in your case?
I am looking for some prototypes for N900 mobile phones. This prototype can be stencils (paper form) as nokia has for other mobile phones or some interactive prototypes.
All kinds of suggestions are highly welcome. If you know some website where some n900 prototype images or prototype testing tools-prototype apps then kindly share
