How can I manually improve the quality of sound output ie. by edditing some config file or so, with the cost of increased CPU usage, for example? What I need to do to achieve that? Any help?

Resurrecting an old thread.
I just noticed that in https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7190
,comment #47 there is a newer package to replace pulseaudio for 1.3.
same version of Pulseaudio with a new free list implementation.
If you still have occasional stutters playing audio and feel adventurous you may try it.
I installed it and I think it delivers.

I'm looking at the kernel power patches, I seem to have found where st_enable is defined, but I'll need some time to compile this, laptop's X crashes a lot for some reason and the remote scratchbox I was using died.
N900 dead and Nokia no longer replaces them. Thanks for all the fish.
