Version 0.6.2 should be in extras-devel soon. Changelog:
* Added support for MPlayer.
* Homescreen widget can now be locked to prevent accidental video playback (long-press on 'cuteTube' button will lock/unlock the widget).

Something I didn't mention following the last release is that you can use cuteTube to play a video via the command line, by entering
where url is the YouTube link to the video. I may add further CLI features in the future.Code:/opt/usr/bin/qmltube --play url
One small thing about the widget tho... in cutetube's settings i have the playback set to mobile (buffering issues) so video's play fine, when i play vids from the widget they play in high quality and buffer all the time?? About the buffering, i did a test, i played a vid in high quality and it buffered on wifi every 10 or so seconds which i kno isn't to do with my broadband speed, so set playback to "mobile" and download to "high quality" added the same video to downloads and played it at the same time, by the time it finished playing the download was complete? Hows that?? Didn't buffer neither? I can play vids in high on 3g no problem too. Sorry for rambling, these are teeny tiny problems for such an awsome app

as you might know, 2day there's the royal wedding in england....
youtube brodcasts it live on http://www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel
as this would be a multimedial happening I just wonder if Marxian could whip up a 'royal' plugin so we got a non bucking royal wedding livestream on our N900...
Maybe this idea comes a lil late...
... but there are 8 1/2 hours left.

The Royal Channel is starting to live stream the wedding of the century at 10am (BST London), which is 2am (PST), 5am (EDT), 11am (CEST), 2.30pm (IST), 6pm (UTC+8), 7pm (EST) and 9pm (NZST),

Anyhow, I think it's more difficult to access the live streams than to access the pre-recorded videos. I'm not sure that the usual web scraping process will work.

I don't do politics here either, but as there's a slight chance that youtube more or less keep their api inside the royalchannel the same to the rest.
So I saw a chance to get, correct me if I'm wrong, first chance on an N900 to see some buckingles livestream.
And as such royal wedding live stream thing + live comments from all around the world there never was before.
You are one of my Gurus, so: your words before others.
Anyway,

I can't see a way of accessing the royal wedding stream from the channel page. However, if you click the 'Watch on YouTube' button in what will be the live stream player, it takes you to this video page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMVpGnQ39gY
This video will play, but it's currently a pre-recorded video, so I can't be sure that the same link will provide access to the live stream.
