Yep ... this all day event is really strange, as i query google with utc, and send data with utc ...

I ll investigate a bit more with this. But this shouldn't be timezone problem.

Would it be possible to have the name of the day between the "Today" and the "date" ?
Hum where to ?

I don't think it's a timezone problem, either.

I entered in a all-day event ("VACATION") lasting 4 days (and thus, flagged as repeating daily until 08/28/2008), using mCalendar. mCalendar displayed the repeating event on Monday 08/25 through Thursday 08/28. Synchronized with Google, and the event showed up on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but not Thursday... Clicked to edit the event on Google, and saved/updated (without actually changing anything) and Thursday then showed up on the Calendar as well.

So, I'm not so sure this thing is -entirely- (if at all!) an mCalendar problem... it may be a Google Calendar problem...

In fact, create an all day event for today in google ... and when you sync it ... google will say :

StartDate : 2008-08-18
EndDate : 2008-08-19
Byday : Monday

hmm.... so, maybe on the repeating events and/or all-day events, you need (Google expects?) the 'day after' the actual ending day to be sent as the ending day? I can check my Google calendar from home tonight to see if when I saved the event again yesterday it changed the 'end date' to 08/29/2008 from the original 08/28/2008. I'll let you know...

(i tried to check just now, but our IT department has blocked access to calendar.google.com, so I'll have to wait until I get home tonight)

Is there any chance there will ever be a grid (ie, paper calendar style) month view? I like to be able to see the whole month at once in that style of view rather than just a list of events.

Is that a feature that there is interest in or that is planned?

If not, GPE is fine, but it's always nice to have alternatives.

I've been looking for the same thing....a simple, big, one month calender.
You can view a calender in mCalender: tap on the"August 2008" tab along the bottom, then tap on the same tab (now displayed at the top) and a small one month calender opens.
.
While searching, I found an old post where someone said "What, you've never heard of "Dates"? So I dug around and found an app called Dates and luckily it still loaded (N810/Diablo). You zoom out from a day view to a week view to a month view and there it is.... a one month calender. Except the first day of each week is Monday (and the last day of the week is Sunday. Is this a Euro thing?)
Sigh......

more like some sort of world thing.

cant find any standard or history about why it is that way so...

ah, found something interesting:
http://www.webexhibits.org/calendars/week.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Days_of...ay_of_the_week

the sunday as first day seems to be a religious thing...

Like this? Do you think you could implement this (or at least make it an option?)

You see, if mCalendar can display the name of the day, I dont need the "Clock" applet any more as the time is displayed by the large-status-bar applet and the name of the day by mcalendar

you need a $300 computer to tell you what day of the week it is?

During the academic year? Not really...
During summer, where we students love to go out and have fun till late, VERY late? Definitely !

Jokes aside, it would be great if mcalendar could do this as it would reduce by 1 the number of applets on my screen
