I don't think so. Many, if not most widgets I downloaded had to be installed manually through the menu. Not a big issue though...

Maybe the wrench icon is just above this highlighted desktop border, which you can see if you want to move a widget to another
desktop?

Yes, it's very close to the left border, so that's probably the case ! Hadn't seen this before, but then this is the largest widget on any of my desktops :-)

Installed this widget today, works fine generally, however doesn't seem to recognise changes in calendar events done automatically in the background (via automated syncevolution sync). I need to re-add widget on the desktop to see updated events. I reckon it should update events to display on each screen view (switching desktops or unlocking screen), like the built-in widget does.

Really nice, only auto-update and theme support are missing.

Thank you for reporting this.
Yes, I don't use synced calendar entries and didn't know what
would happen.
At the moment it only updates the calendar entries if editing the events is
done by the calendar-ui (it is listening on d-bus signals for this).
I was a little bit afraid to update the view everytime the user
switching the desktop.

Maybe a simple shortcut of tapping on the date/icon will force a refresh? That would solve most of the problem short term at least. I'm sure the sync clients fire a dbus message or two when updating entries to trigger off of too.

nicolai, thank you for this great app. I've been unhappy with the built in calendar widget and feel that your new widget with configuration options is exactly what I need!

However, I just noticed a bug (a major one for me): the widget does not display events if they are "All Day" events that last longer than 1 day (e.g. an event that I set up to last from May 21 to June 14 does not show up at all). Can you please look into this?

Again, great work. Looking forward to the fix for the above, and whatever new features/updates that you have planned!

Thanks for this great app.
Just today I discovered that my Calendar-Widget got broken a few days after PR 1.2
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=605

Installed your replacement instead, and now all entries are shown correctly

Just one suggestion - would it be possible to add one more size between medium and large with 7 lines ?
This would be great because I could place some shortcuts below the calendar-widget and wouldn't waste too much space on the homescreen...

At the moment this is only for testing. There can be bugs, leaks, crashes.
(The worst thing that can happen, your hildon-home crashes
and you have to add back all your other widgets).

I've tried to make it look like the built-in widget.
And added some small ui changes and some setting options.

Features:
  • set visible rows:
    • Small - 2 Rows
    • Medium - 5 Rows
    • Larte - 9 Rows
    • Auto - Adjusts the size automatically for upto 9 rows.
  • set the date range to use to show events on the widget (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, ..., 1 year)
  • Select visible calendars .
  • Select which calendar view to open, when tapping on the event list.
    (agenda, week, month)
You can always tap on the day icon to open the agenda view,
the week day name always opens the week view and
tapping on the month label, well opens the month view.

If you like, please test and report back which events are not displayed or wrong. For example, I did
not tested synced events. Or if there are any problems with huge calendars.
