Hi Serge, I encode DVD’s to play on MPlayer using avi.NET which has a fixed resolution width of 480x. My query is regarding the sound.

If the sound is encoded to mp3 there is no problem but if I leave it as the original AC3 then video/audio is out of sync. It plays fine on my Vista computer.

Is this one of those things and I should just encode to mp3 or is there a fix?

Is there any way to increase the volume of sounds (especially mplayer videos) on the tablet? The tablet is much much quieter than my laptop when I plug my headphones into either and I have the volume turned all the way up on both! It's so bad that I can't hear the tablet at all on airplanes which is where I primarily want to watch movies . Any fixes?

did you left AC5.1 sound to AVI or made stereo one? Decoding AC3 stereo should be easier for HW (as it is mp2 based) than mp3 stereo but probably mp3 implementation is more optimized.

FTAO Serge - small bug, anyone else get this?

Using latest build on n800 os08 - I use the old display time out/screen blank each two mins ttrick to make the screen fade when I do a lock keys/screen press, it's how my tablet rests when not in use, and I rarely ever actually re-boot, just top up power etc and all is good.

However, after using mplayer the screen doesn't dim when doing the usual as above, and I have to re-boot it to get the normal behaviour back. this happens after every use of mplayer.

Don't know if that makes any sense, if so, anyone else getting this?

No big deal, certainly not for the functionality the app brings, but thought I'd mention it to see if there was an easy fix

cheers!

CNN .m4v feeds start out of sync and stay out of sync on v.24 - OS2008 on an n800.

Put http://rss.cnn.com/services/podcasting/cnnnewsroom/rss in VideoCenter to get the feed.

I use either the built-in mediaplayer or Media Box for playback, but the result is the same. I'd like to induce a delay in audio to get it closer to the video, but I haven't had any luck. Other types of video play fine.
