I just tried this and looks like cbrpager introduced new mime type 'application/x-cbr' (in file manager tap-and-hold and choose details to see that mime type)

That mime type doesn't show up in the defaults tab though so i will have to add that mime-type in the next release.

You could add it to defaults.list yourself but probably easier to just pickapplication from list and choose dbus-switchboard (or maybe even cbrpager)

dbus switchboard shows up, but not cbrpager.

and having to go via that dialog each time, bothersome...

Yea... ok well i updated dbus-switchboard to 1.2.6 which includes this fix... i will release to my repo tomorrow if no bugs are found.

Download link in first post.

Changelog :
- Added mime type for application/x-cbr (cbr comics)
- Added CbrReader as handler for cbr files
- Fixed transmission handler to use a more reliable param encoding
- Added maemo-mapper as handler
- Added xref for GPX files to use maemo-mapper (seems to want very latest version of maemo-mapper to work)

I installed 1.2.6 and changed the default for .asf When I tried to play a .asf file from the file manager, the file manager disappears and the system hangs. Nothing plays. It was set to use mplayer. I'm not sure how to tell what is going on.

I just tried and looks like you need to change the xref for asf to use 'mplayer' instead of 'mplayer- playlist' as the selected handler.

After changing that, and enabling the default 'video/x-ms-asf', it loaded fine in mplayer.

(although nokia media player also seems to support this type well enough for my sample)

That seems to work for me. I agree the nokia media player plays asf files fine. MPlayer is a problem, because there doesn't seem to be any way to interact with it (like to stop it playing). Perhaps I should use kmplayer?

mplayer uses dpad along with toggle fullscreen to allow full seeking and pausing to do other work.

ikmplayer does have button ui controls like media player, if thats important... but when i tried using it to play my sample asf i couldnt get it to work (even when opening file from its own menu) so mplayer assoc might be more reliable.

So i changed both realparams to convert hex encoded chars to actual chars.

realparams forces file:// at beginning, and realparams2 is volume format (/media/mmc2...)

mplayer now uses realparams with quotes around them and seems to work fine.

1.2.5 download in first post and repo.
Using realparams with mplayer means no subtitles, but it works fine using realparams2

would not a simple bookmark be quicker? or dont you use the bookmark menu in the gui?

crap, while trying to add a http url via the gui, i seem to have overridden the normal one, yet as i set to handler, the http entry do not show up in the gui...

also, it seems that the browser do not take command line parameters...
