Pellervo Käsi: Swap is not useful becauce of flash device's write limit.
I found something new that could improve Debian's performance:

And AdBlock could be in default installation, and maybe even Flashblock.

To anyone awaiting a new release: Honestly, I'm not doing all that much work on this right now. If you want to see things improve, then please go ahead and make patches and improvements and share them in this thread or on the wiki. If you wait for me to do it, you'll be in for a long wait. I'll probably get back to working on this eventually, but I have other projects to put my (limited) free time into right now. I do appreciate all the feedback, though. I also look forward to patches, and new packages, and of course I'm more than willing to answer questions about how I did things.

Thanks Johnx for a great new toy to put my n810 through its paces.
I did want to comment to let others know that I had a slight calibration problem on my n810 touchscreen. I did see the notes in the wiki article regarding this and I did relink /etc/pointercal.default to the /etc/pointercal-ls041y3-RX-44.default which was the linked file for chinook. I didn't seem to see any improvement until I logged back into chinook and ran tscalibrate and compared the /etc/pointercal to the /etc/pointercal.default file. There was enough of a difference that I copied the /etc/pointercal over to the debian system. When I logged back in i was very happy to find that the pointer was right on and I was able to navigate around much easier.
For anyone elses reference my /etc/pointercal file contains:
14719 -40 -3390640 41 -9929 35606712 65536
