Has anyone had success setting up gmail on the new OS? I tried but I'm getting an SSL error and I don't think google lets you connect using insecure pop access.

HELP! I can't go back. I flashed the May 06 update just fine. I flashed this beta just fine, but when I try to flash back to the May 06, it starts the progress meter, slams it immediately to 100% and says 'there were problems with the software upgrade ... Invalid Image ... Code 3' with a link to the website, where I can't find anything about code 3. This is the same May 06 image that flashed just fine before -- and just to make sure, I downloaded another copy of it before writing this. Any ideas ????

It would be nice if the contacts supported more then just email. I imported my contacts from Outlook easily enough but I don't like not having phone numbers and addresses. Hopefully they add it on before it leaves beta.

I don't think there's much I can do about this one, other than consult Nokia.
Same problem here -- I can't go back to the May 06 release. Be warned folks.

Are you flashing from linux/unix or windows?

I've never been able to get the windows flasher to work.

what network in which country? I'm looking for a provider in the USA on which I can use google talk on my nokia 770 over 3g. Can anyone else who has had success with this speak up or pm me. I want to use t-mobile because their unlimited internet plan is the cheapest, but I don't know if their edge network is strong enough.

Well, one word: wow.

A totally different 770 experience. Has anyone noticed that the dimmest setting is much, much dimmer now? The bright setting of course, just as bright as before. Good stuff. The google integration and the discovery channel A/V...brilliant. The GUI is much more intuitive and "alive", and it even sounds better.

Haven't yet tested the VoIP function yet, but I imagine it will be pretty awesome...

I was thinking about this; everybody I chat with is on AIM, but it'd be nice to use the chat program that comes with the update. So, one thing I could do (haven't tried it yet), is set up my home computer to forward AIM messages to my Google Talk screen name.

I could use something like this (a plugin for Gaim): http://gaim-assistant.tulg.org/ . And I could use VNC to connect to my computer from away and turn on the forwarder for the day or something if need be. But, I wouldn't be able to browse who's online, and I don't know if ?I'd even be able to reply with this particular plugin.

Hmm, there's gotta be something better out there. Anybody seen anything?

You could always get a jabber account and register with an aim transport.
