be sure to check 'Run as root' and 'Run in terminal'

You'll probably need to set up SUDO first, though.

Hi, I'm a new n800 user and I really like Personal Launcher... just a question, I have a nice set of icons and would like to use them instead of the default, where should I put the icons to use them with PL?

Sorry for bad english!

I just got my new n810 today (and am loving it), but I know little about linux and nothing about maemo. I installed the nifty-looking Personal Launcher (after updating to Diablo), but I have no idea how to run it. The application manager says it's installed, but I can't find an icon to run it or anything similar. Any suggestions?

Hi,

heron61, go up to the menu, on your desktop screen, you will see A line that says 'applet settings' click on it and you will see A line for 'Persona Launcher' click on it and you should be good from there.

I am A noob as for Linux too but the challenge is worth it.

Thanks muchly!!! I now have my favorite icons on my desktop, which is vastly more useful than having to scroll down through multiple menus for them.

Also, many thanks to the person who created this app, it is wonderful!

Hi,

I tried to use the personal launcher. When I added applications via the interface found in control panel but I only managed to change the "circular wheel icon which represents the personal launcher" into the media player (the 1st application I selected). I then tried to add other applications and they do not appear.

I have tried to uninstall and down load the launcher from the maemo but nothing changes. I still get the media player as the icon and still unable to successfully add applications.

Any idea what I did wrong?

Thanks
Lawrence

I have installed PL and configured everything and it's working well. Thanks!

Question: Can its location be moved? I would like to place it at the lower edge of the screen. Currently it's right over the Google search bar which I would prefer to leave in its location. Thanks.

Just use your finger to drag nd drop. There is also a smal grey rightsngle at the bottom right for resizing.
