Remove ~/.thumbnails/mediabox to get rid of the thumbnails.

Remove ~/.mediabox for the rest:
- index over ID tags
- cache of ID tags
- media bookmarks
- playlists
- customized players.mapping

Code:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/maemo-mediabox
to remove all configuration settings.

I may have missed something somewhere, and if so I apologise.
Is it possible to change the location of Mediabox's config and database files? My music (24GB) library causes Mediabox to use 80Mb of my root partition, which is slightly hungry!

I'd like to give mediabox a good go, but this keeps pushing me away.

80 MB is really a lot. Can you please provide the output of
Code:
df -h .mediabox
and
Code:
df -h .thumbnails
so that we can find what's occupying so much space.

So I could have a play about with it, I deleted .mediabox, and relaunched the app with only one of my sd cards in, which has about 13GB (112 albums) of music on it.

the results os df -h .mediaserv are below. as you can see, now it only uses 56M, but still way too much. .thumbnails is empty by the way.

du -h .mediabox
0 .mediabox/playlists
0 .mediabox/upnpcache
0 .mediabox/youtube/search-cache
0 .mediabox/youtube
56.7M .mediabox/idtags
0 .mediabox/themes
56.8M .mediabox

hope this helps..

Thanks

Gaz

For 1. are you referring to version 703 ? in that case it is still not fixed. In case of two albums with the same name, the album for the first artist ( alphabetically ) shows, but not the next ones.

I was missing the gconf cleanup command - thanks for that. I tried the above after doing all the cleanup and downloading fresh from SVN

Hi,

MediaBox looks great. I especially like UPnP/DLNA streaming.

However, a minor issue is if the server does not respond, MediaBox hangs totally. You can try this e.g. by running ushare (http://ushare.geexbox.org/) in the foreground, i.e. without -D, then it won't respond to any more requests if streaming. If you then listen to a song, and browse to an unknown dir, it hangs till SIGHUP.

The update interface would not work. Deleting the idx files resolved my album list issues.

Yes, this is really ugly with ushare. It only accepts one connection at a time. While you're streaming music, you can't browse the folders. It will hang until the server has finished streaming.
Doesn't MediaBox abort the connection after a timeout? If not, I'll have to add this.

Thanks. I'll investigate this.
