It went to number 5, the house next door but I guess when the wife called she spoke to the husband not the wife, if you get my drift, and he'd been asleep when UPS called.

And yes, Beatrice is rather pleasant to the eye. In fact very

After going on about the 770 for weeks to various people I placed an order on Sunday night. The status is "out for delivery" at the local depot, I saw the UPS man go past the office in the morning but I am hoping it will be dropped off on that way back while he is making collections.

I am *hoping* that it will be able to run some kind of sat-nav or moving map software, I have various TIFF tiles of the local area and it would be a boon to have in the car. I have a laptop that could do that sort of thing but it is too bif and fragile to carry around. I think even GPSdrive will be good enough for me, but TomTom would be great too.

Ok, arrived about 1/2hr ago!

First impressions: Feels very solid and of good quality, the sort of thing that I would expect to come from Nokia. I don't expect to drop it but I imagine it would fare quite well. MMC door was a bit stiff (had to use a pen top to prise it out), hopefully it might loosen up a bit. Screen is "wow" - my boss got a new Sony TX1XP yesterday (tiny w/s carbon fibre thing) and I was impressed with that, but this seems to be even higher res!

Darn, just realised I should have posted this from the 770

edit: well I can edit from it anyway!

Hello
As I understood from previous posts, do we who didn't get one in the first batch, have to wait until the end of november? My ordered version is labeled sv,fi,dk (as in three Nordic countries). Has anybody heard of delays with them?

Rumors say Nokia collected devices from Nokia staff in order to have at least a couple of units in stock for launch on Monday. This is what they started with:

BE,NL = 23 units (out of stock now)
DK,SE,FI = 37 units (out of stock now)
AT,DE,FR = 0 units (nothing in stock at all)
IR,UK = 42 units (out of stock now)
ES,IT = 17 units (5 in stock left now)

Just give'em a StarTrek(TM) replicator
or wait forever ...

I feel very lucky to have got one - those numbers are a joke - thats not a launch - I bet my brother feels lucky as well he um'ed and ar'ed for a good 30 minutes after me.

To sum up then myself and my brother own 2 of 42 or 4.76% of the UK and Ireland stock !!
