Awsome.. I feel much more optimistic!

They probably sold out from pre-orders..

I don't think so. I think this shows that they were getting tired of getting phone calls asking when current orders would be shipped. Answer: December.

To me 'current orders' means orders that are current, ie. haven't shipped to the customer. That's a current order. My order that I placed 2 days ago is a current order.

I could be wrong, I hope I am.

It has indeed started shipping. In Europe.

It's not a trick answer; it's a European company.

well I dont know if anyone else noticed, but as of 2 days ago you could pre-order it and it said shipping date Nov 17th. Then today at the 770 website when you clicked the Buy tab it showed a flash intro that said "availible now" then if you clicked buy it now, it forwarded you to another flash intro that said Comming Soon. You coudlnt even get to the pre-order page like before.

then today that changed from Comming Soon to a working Buy it now page like before except with a notice that all current orders wont ship till Dec.

I think that anyone who ordered it prior to today will get it soon, and anyone who order after today will get it in December.

I also just noticed on the Nokia USA website that the 770 accessories, which yesterday were shown as 'coming soon', now are available for order.

Just think, we an all chant "I WANT MY SEVEN SEVENTY!" like the old "I want my MTV!" when we next talk to Nokia.

I have to say this is kind of disappointing. I don't know, however, if they're slowed down to someone at Nokia screwing up or if its the shipper who's delivering to the warehouse.

Dear Nokia Customer,
Current orders for the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet are not expected to be fulfilled before December 2005. Orders are filled in the order received. Your credit card will not be charged until your product is available for shipment. We will also send you a Shipment Notification email at that time so you can track your order.

I'm not seeing where this official announcement is posted. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Robert. If you select "buy now" and go through the buying process (as if you were ordering again) you'll see this message before it'll let you add it to your shopping cart.

FWIW, I just called to check on my order and was told that 1) the shipment has not arrived at the warehouse and 2) no idea how long it would be until it did.

The Nokia 770 does not exist; It is a figment of our imaginations.
