Interesting, just read an article on engadjet about Samsung releasing a bunch of new hardware for future phones and mids. Things like a 1 Ghz processor.

interesting tweet from eldar..

"N900 web app error too much for me, tired and will be switch to another device after review of Maemo5. Will compare Maemo5 with S60/Android"

"On nokia world n900 was with pr firmware, disabled a lot of features, improved stability, speed etc. Good for pr, bad for real product"

lol is this true? that the Pre production hardware and software actually disabled some features to make the UI more snappy? i hope it is not..

Obviously preproduction hardware/software isn't running everything - then it wouldnt be preproduction, it would be the final product, no?

It's been stated earlier in the thread he is "reviewing" a stolen preproduction proto without the latest software (and hardware) so obviously there is problem. I've never heard of a rock solid preproduction experience, but I guess he expects nothing but perfection from Nokia... :-)

That is just not true -- especially when referring to a device that was (a) stolen, (b) an early prototype, and (c) running an outdated sw update.

'Confusing tweets from Eldar too much for me, tired and will stop caring about them.'

Really, I don't know all the details but he clearly has issues with his whatever prototype and software and the combination of those.

It's a strange feeling to have the same device on my hands and not seeing the same issues. The n900 browser is pretty solid currently.

I asked him directly what exact issues he is experiencing. His answer was:

1. 3G calls do not work well on some Korean network he tested them with.
2. No support for portrait mode.
3. Phone app does not autorotate in certain conditions.

That is all he said.
