Well, I prefer having access to a few very nice apps that I will use for sure, than having access to useless stuff like 95% of the apps on apple's appstore

I thought the Park app was cute and useless, but I haven't really tried it yet. There is something on anarchism that is probably useless. Some of the games aren't so hot, I think. But I don't like many games.

ive had my n900 now for almost 3 months and still im yet to see any really good apps. yeah theres some ok ones but im getting quite disappointed with the whole thing

im no iphone fan boy infact im not a big fan of apple in general but my cousin has the 3gs and some of the apps seem revolutionary compared to the ones on n900.

i hope this changes soon as it would be nice to start seeing what this phone can really do as it the moment its all power with no substance.

You said it man!! I can't believe I paid $600 bucks for a worthless smart phone that can't even run a decent Fart App!!

What a RIP OFF!!!!

Seriously, Stevelee24, stop trolling our forums and go get your dang iPhone already. Sell your N900 to someone who knows how to use it.

One of the big barriers at present is the lack of proper support for paid apps on the N900. The OVI store isn't working properly yet (big slaps) and also the device itself isn't locked down as tight as the fruitphone. Both these factors along with a smaller userbase means that the platform is less attractive to developers.

What type of applications are you looking for though? Maybe you could ask for a few and see what happens? revdKathy has suggested a couple and HopBeat seems to be the lad to make things happen quickly too.

for example?

I mean.. which kind of apps are you expecting to appear in N900?

Maybe someone with the skills to develop it or even port it if it's already developed does if they realize that people want to have "this or that app".

cheers.

Now that you made a post about it, thousands of apps will be magically created and transferred on your phone.

The N900 is the total opposite of the fruit phone with its tight controls and making sure its user friendly over performance.

But what we do have with this site is the chance to directly infulence the apps even if we have no programing skills with testing, reviewing and simply suggesting ideas and improvements.

In my job i have been involved with developing software and I have never typed a word of code but the developers have been glad of myself and others help to assit with the development of the app.
We suggest things, we give the honest opnion proof read any text or notice other small mistakes.

Once the Ovi store can host paid apps and more users (Vodafone UK is selling loads of N900's) there will be both a market and more developers. It will take time of course.
