Early 1st impression...it's a 1.0 release for sure but shows real promise. Loads much slower than MicroB (hard to beat instantly) but nearly as fast loading pages once it gets going. Handles some sites better than MicroB, particularly our company's webportal, a very Good Thing for me. Good looking fonts. Tabbed browsing is nice. I enabled Flash and it played some YouTube videos fine. No crashes in a hour or so of foolin' around.

On the other hand...bookmark management is poor. I can't find a way to organize bookmarks into folders and no import of bookmarks from MicroB. Very weird bug with the on-screen keyboard picking up stuff from the Notes app. No Firefox icon - or maybe that's just my installation, I can't believe they'd leave that out.

A big thanks to the Mozilla guys for making an effort to support Maemo. It's not ready to replace MicroB as my default browser, especially 'til they get bookmarks worked out. But I'm leaving it installed if for no other reasons than accessing the company webportal and piddle with as it develops.
Yes, it plays Youtube fine, but no other Flash type content even after following the instructions to enable the function. Strange, but Youtube in Firefox seems to play better than the built in browser.

I kind of prefer it to the built in browser- if I could get the Flash to work, I probably would use as my main browser.

or i just dont know how to do that....
I tried to start a thread on this subject about two weeks ago. With no responses, I assumed I was the only one interested in keyboard navigation. I'm very happy to know that there are two of us!

The only answer I've found is to use the Links2 browser, either in text or graphics mode. It's available through Easy Debian. In text mode its usefulness is limited, but sometimes very handy when I'm on a low-bandwidth wireless network or Edge. Even in graphics mode it does not work with many sites. But when it does work, it's great to be able to browse with just the arrow keys, not having to worry about about hitting an impossibly tiny target,

If there are any followups to this, they should probably go to the earlier thread, where they might be somewhat on-topic:

N900 Browser: navigate links with arrow keys?

Just installed, browser has SERIOUS potential. I recently tried Tear (over Midori) and was sadly, less than impressed. This seems release-worthy, for maemo at least, and is the biggest source of hope for my N810 yet. Keep up the good work, and to the community, lets find out how to make this browser awesome with tweaks and hacks like we always seem to!

Is there any way to make the Firefox the default browser on the N900? I would like links from emails and desktop shortcuts to open in Firefox.

i like the way it doesn't zoom when you use the volume keys but it's freezing the phone.

Install package named browser-switchboard
It adds entry to Control panel to change default browser (Might need device restart).

After delving into about:config, I'm wondering if there aren't some easy tweaks to speed up firefox. I already upped the browser cache, but I noticed there were a few entries for disk space (or disk use). Anyone got a tip to share?

Thanks! Installed browser-switchboard and made the move to Firefox as default. Worked perfectly but you do have to reboot.

The more I use Firefox the more I like it. With flash enabled, Adblock Plus installed and memory cache doubled to 2048, it's running pretty nice!

I've been using Fennec as my browser for a few days and I'm really enjoying it. The only problem is, I haven't figured out a way to make it my default browser. Any time I click on a link outside of the browser (like from the desktop or a contact) it opens in Microb. What do I need to punch in to Terminal to change the default browser?
