I installed this app to controll my new DM8000 and it worked great.
But after installing the Gemini 2 image on my Dreambox the remote stopped working. This probably is because of the different web interface.
Are you planning on supporting other images besides the official Dreambox images?

I don't know anything about a different web interface. But I have myself no experience with Gemini 2 likewise the DM8000... it's still to expensive for me. (please don't forget to use the donate button)

Please enter your IP Adress at the N900 webbrowser. Does it work there?

What happens when you start DreamRemote from terminal. (just enter "DreamRemote" at the Terminal and post the output here)

If something is different at Gemini 2 I could try to make some adaptations. But I need your help.

hello i just installed dreamremote i have DM 500-S
i started the dreamremote and went to the settings and then entered the IP-Address of my dream box (from "Menu->Setup->Expert Setup->Communication Setup" also tried "Menu->Setup->Expert Setup->Ngard Server") every one separately and even tied checking the check box "Port" using the port from the Communication Setup and another time from the Ngard Server nothing worked! the upper-right red dot turned into green every time i tap a button but nothing ever happens, and also i tried all of the "Mode" enigma 1 and enigma 2, nothing is working,
does the dreamremote support DM 500-S??
did any one manage to make it work?
maybe i am doing something wrong? if so please help
thanks.

Hello vin_akleh,

Sorry for my late answer. I have a lot to do these days and the Power Supply of my DM 7025 is broken. So I used my spare time to search for a replacement.

But I will answer you now. I hope I could still help.

Have you tried to enter the IP Adress into the N900 Webbrowser?
Could you see there the website from your DreamBox?

If you could see it but have to enter a Password my DreamRemote wouldn't work.

If there is no webremote perhapt the Plugin for Webremote at your DreamBox is not working. At some Images you have to install it first. Perhaps it is simply not running or not installed.
Or you are not in the same W-Lan with your N900 and your Dreambox? (behind the same firewall)

I hope you could get it working. Please report if it works!

If someone has Problems using DreamRemote since PR1.3 please run the following command as root and answer the question with yes:

Code:
apt-get install python2.5-sip4=4.10.5-maemo0

Sadly, protected connections are currently not supported by DreamRemote. If you have to enter username and password into your webremote at the Browser DreamRemote will simply not work.
If you are behind a NAT-Firewall and don't want to have access to your DreamBox from outside your W-Lan connection you can remove the password protection without problems.
