yes, ive installed it via dpkg -i. it shows up under the widget selection menu and ive also installed qt4-homescreen-loader. everytime i try to add nothing shows up and sometimes all my widgets crash.
still getting that syntax error when executing via Xterm (ash /usr/lib/hildon-desktom/fmrdsnotyfy)

btw: there is no .so or extension after the fmrdsnotify file in hildon-desktop

Ok i think i found the issue..

Go as root into /usr/lib/hildon-desktop

then chmod 755 fmrdsnotify

Should fix your problem

Like i say if you want to try new layout or anything else just create a rds.svg file and put it on your N900 root storage

That looks great .

Something that would make it even easier to use would be if you created some kind of FM transmitter applikation to use together with the widget. It could be some kind of full screen application which would mean even larger Icons and even easier to use .

Hmm, I'd still simplify the general layout, here's my two cents for stirring up the conversation.

As in, why there should be extra indicator for TX when the on/off icon could manage the same thing

I did a quick mockup in Inkscape with Meego building blocks, didn't care for the media player width at the moment (but you'll get the general idea) Maybe it could be more maemo-ish but here goes nothing:

SVG also attached.

Good

You can try your svg with this widget, simply put rds.svg at the right place /home/user/Mydocs or connect n900 in USB Storage mode and copy file to rds.svg on the root filesystem.

Btw the naming of obecjt ID is as follow :

* Label :
Station_Name : Default station Name
Station_Freq : Current Station Frequency
TX_Status_Off , TX_Status_On : Tx label status

* icons are :
FM_On_Icon, FM_Off_Icon : Switch Tx on / off
SMS_Off_Icon , SMS_On_Icon : SMS tags display
Phone_On_Icon, Phone_Off_Icon : Phone tags display
Music_On_Icon , Music_Off_Icon : Music tags display
Plus , Min : frequency of TX increase /decrease
