Yeah if there is anything to learn from all these rumors, speculation, leaks, reference devices and everything else, it's that MeeGo itself should be ready to support whatever hardware the phone vendors feel like using. Hmm looking at the roadmap, i see MeeGo release 1.2 is planned for April 21st, so we still have some time to wait, and things can change on the hardware front anyways...

I'm following maemo group on LinkedIn and I'm amazed by number of roles being announced there for MeeGo development. In fact seems to be more tense these days. (2011!?) Looking for key roles by the way.

Nokia is under development pretty much and to many ideas are twisting their minds. Focus people, FOCUS!.

well, look at that roadmap i linked above. They have basically 3 months remaining to finish v1.2. They're meeting all their release dates and everything looks to be on track... I mean it says "MM3: All planned features released"
It could be that some of the positions are contracts, maybe they have to re-advertise them or something.

Note that MeeGo is a fixed release schedule thing. The date will thus always be met, hopefully with all the deliverables on board Just saying that there is less pressure for MeeGo version releases that there would be for product firmwares (i.e. MeeGo can always release a .1 if they think they have a significant fix or sorts, while pushing a firmware update that affects devices is a far more convoluted process).

A Finnish tech website "Prosessori" is using wording that indicates the "if" in the N9 is about the processor architecture, not the device itself; as in, and I'm free-base-translating here, "based on some estimates, the N9, which Nokia will announce in Barcelona, might make it the first X86 smartphone."

Ok, I'm desperate, I'm just trying to stay relevant on TMO. Pathetic. I know.

The only benefit I could imagine is that we are "in case of emergency" able to run native X86 Linux Binaries. Including Flash 10...
Am I right in that point?

Every serious organisation needs one.

Does Nokia plan on making a MeeGo/N9 "gravy train"?
