the ****ty thing about n900 was that it's a developer's phone without a market.

as such, the number of parties doing professional development on it becomes very2 small.

thus, it became a hobbyist phone.

Do you have any figure to backup your claim or you are just trolling?

Maybe you're new to this forum or you only follow this forum, so you're not familiar with the mobile market at large. I will excuse your ignorance and I will also take you imitating me (my questions) as the sincerest form of flattery.

Look up the number of original apps for maemo, compare that to any other app stores.

Look up the number of sold app licenses for maemo, compare that to the competition.

Those are some big gaps.

Your did not answer directly. I hope the following explicit questions would not give you any excuse to mislead my meaning again.

First, you said "a developer's phone without a market". Is your claim true?
Second, your claimed "the number of parties doing professional development on it becomes very2 small". How small? Comparison doesn't really describe how small it is. One can say you're smaller than an elephant, but that doesn't tell people how small you are.

Labelling people with opposite opinions around with 'trolling', 'fanboyism' and 'astroturfing', or being here longer than many others, doesn't grant one the privilege of trolling.

I never labeled anyone as astroturfing, because I think it's a ridiculous conspiracy theory. The cost/effort vs benefit of doing such thing is ridiculously low that one can achieve the same effect through many other cheaper and more efficient means, if that is the objective.

Fanboys are obvious, for each camps. This derogatory terms are usually shot off in annoyance to remind someone that they're not thinking objectively; that they're letting their bias/preference over a platform/brand to cloud the argument/remark that they're making.

Developer's phone without a market:

1. For Qt development: you'd be better off getting one of the top 3 Symbian phones to better represent your target audience.
2. For MeeGo development: there is no official support of MeeGo on N900.
3. For maemo development: Sure, there is a sizeable FOSS audience; but an actual 'market' for your apps? Check out these numbers from Nokia. How maemo is represented on it:

ps: I love how you say that trolling is a privelege

Thanks, I just want to see how you backup every of your claims with facts so that I can learn from you.

In the past I thought giving personal opinions in this forum is OK until you bought up to me that any attempt to give opinion without factual backup is a form of trolling.

Same-o, I love the way you say the word 'privilege' too.
