Then you have it. Otherwise it would have said something like not found.

Yep as laasonen said look like you have it installed
meanwhile you have account-plugin-slaut broken

that means you will not be able to install anything with apt-get until you fix it

How to:

disable extras-devel!!!!!!
enable extras (no testing or no devel)!!!!!

open xterminal

apt-get -f install

if it didn't work

try
sudo gainroot
dpkg -r account-plugin-salut

Then

apt-get install account-plugin-salut

To check if the problem is fixed

apt-get install bash

it should say
bash is already the newest version.

Hope i helped

@karam
sir tried what you suggested the problem is when i typed apt-get install account-plugin-salut there was an error. same error when installing bash. what can i do sir?

btw sir tried this again
sudo gainroot

apt-get install bash
tar xzvf /home/user/MyDocs/patch.tar.gz
cp cgroup_patch /home/user/
cp speedpatch /etc/event.d/
chmod +rwx /home/user/cgroup_patch
/home/user/cgroup_patch
/home/user/cgroup_patch #may be needed
chmod +rwx /etc/rc.local
chmod +rwx /usr/local/sbin/cgroup_clean
chmod +rwx /etc/event.d/speedpatch
/etc/rc.local
then i typed bash on the terminal. this time the not found warning showed up. looks like the bash is not yet installed.

Noticed that this only shows the default shell.

This should show current:
Code:
cat /proc/$$/cmdline

So, $$ is the current user session? Using cat /proc/$$/cmdline the shell is giving me bash w/o quotes.

second yes you need a full reboot to create cgroup folder in /dev (but for me i did notice a change before a reboot) but in my case i had all the other tweaks that needed a reboot ex : kernel power swapollube)

so : yes a reboot is needed

third you can notice the changes basicly in multitasking (try to open many bokkmarks and sites) and it will stay smooth

or try to scroll contacts , songs , anything
and they all should be smoother

finaly have you applied every thing ? (especialy the script) ?
nope i meant transmission is the torrent client for n900. when i used to use it, my system would kind off hang off. and slow down, with this it has improved some what.

yes now i rebooted and can say the scrolling of image and contacts is faster but cannot say that it is related to reboot or this script.

I do see that cgroup etc are created so seems patch is applied. i also have swappolube tuned for massive io. hopefully your script will work out and make my phone much snappier..

Karam, I want to understand this patch. I've installed this using another method of this patch (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=65933). This patch is creating a cgroup in /etc/profile file which seems to be the system-wide configuration file for a user session.

Please can you make a screenshot of /dev/cgroup/cpu/user? The screenshot you are showing to us isn't important for this patch.
IMO if your script is working there must be a folder with a number of the actual user session.
