The PSP does in fact have wifi, and i believe that the new PSP Go does have bluetooth.

toucheé... however, u should admit that it would be REEEEALLY intresting if we have that "secret driver" and could unleash the machine's full potential.

and well... Nokia's internet tablet are famous for having lots of functionalities... the more the better i guess, anda emulate old PSX games can be a great addition

Well, you know we don't even have Super Famicon emulator. It's a pity because it could run quite well on N810 ...

So I guess that a PSx ... is just a sweet dream ...

a dream that can possibly come true... we just need to mobilize the right people...

well, i haven't bought my n800 (yet) and my programming knowledge is zero (windows-user ¬¬') but sooner or later i can help in the "morale boost" sector... i have faith in the people here... i've seen they creating ambitious and great things (mer, almost every single maemo app...). maybe if them just try something different, we'll have a multi-console multi-purpose gadget sonner or later

There is a lot of discussion about the 3D drivers. First of all, there is an external LCD driver, so the 3D would have to be rendered, then pushed to a controller, then rendered again, and pushed to the screen (That's what I think). Also, Nokia seems to have a 3D driver, but they cant give it to use because it is for the wrong kernel, and because of licensing issues, it can't be distributed. This may change, but chances are not. So yeah, no chance of PSX emulation on the tablets.

Nokia knows about this. They solved it with Maemo 5 hardware. To bad for us I guess...

feel free to reverse engineer it and write the driver from scratch

that means that putting the whole weight on the processor could get better performance? (i'm a noob windows user... dunno about h\w things)

i'm noob 'bout software too, but having the drivers "in hands" ("propositally leaked" maybe? ok... forget 'bout conspiracy theory), a talented coder could adapt it to run perfectly on N8X0 platform right?

Currently it is all on the processor. And seeing that the tablet can barely run SNES, PSX is out of the question.

And yes, a talented coder could reverse engineer the drivers, but they would not be perfect (ever*) and by then there would be Crysis on mobile devices...

*It would never display in native 800x480

Well, you know we don't even have Super Famicon emulator.
We have two, LJP in Garnet VM and Snes9x. Both have upsides and downsides, but they do work. And that is for a different thread.
