Why would any phone need 12mp? You are decived by marketing. No phone should have more than 8mp. 5 is enough. More pixels equals worse image quality basically. What we need is a good sensor/optics not more megapixels.

I agree with 8M being enough pixels.

A bonus would be the inclusion of a small threaded adaptor surrounding the optics to facilitate the attachment of a simple telefoto lens - winner!!!

Easy Debian BUILT IN!

Screw Android support

But yes, I think;

[b]Hardware[/]
Keyboard
Styuls
Capacitve Multitouch, but needs to support pressure sensitivity.
1GB + memory. Every time I pick up my N900 now, I think 'Wow, I wish they had put more memory in this, otherwise it's perfect!"
High resolution screen, if for no other reason to get people to shut up who argue that having 300 ppi is so very awesome and makes such a huge difference.

Sofware
Personally I prefer Hildon over Swipe. Heck, if they followed Gnome-Shell's look (which followed Hildon's Look) I'd be happy too.
Easy Debian is a must. Especially with Wheezy coming out soon(ish).
Would be nice to have an easier way to port existing applications over.
I would prefer the Host OS be Debian based as well, but I know that decision has already been made. Let's just hope they use YUM and not Zypper...

Which brings up a question, do they use Yum? I don't think they ever said it was OpenSuSE based, but was Fedora/RedHat based, right?

An EasyCentOS or EasyFedora may be kind of cool though (but I'm old school and think that Fedora's idea of moving everything into /bin is dumb.)

I have figured out the reason 'smartphones' were invented. They are for reading the internet while pooping. This means the best smartphone ever created is the N9. It is the only one that works so well single-handed.

Bollocks most of the request are NOT going to be fulfilled. They are just way too unrealistic.

I think the best we can expect is N950 type design + with a small improvement on all specs (better cpu, better gpu, 1GB RAM)

It just makes business sense, the bigger the markup the better.

I'd like to insiste that Jolla's smartphone to be dual sim standby, so use 2 SIM cards = 2 phone numbers. Lack of dual sim was the greatest disadvantage of N9 for me. This is commonly used solution, especially in Asia, and it make huge increase of comfort. When I can have in one and the same mobile together: bussines number + private number, number for calls + number for cheap internet, etc. etc.
I'd like this need to be noticed by Jolla as it is really needed by in-job-users like me, and millions of similar like me. Hardly needed. For me this is must have option - that was the reason I had to change from my N9 for other but dual sim mobile.... And I can use it for fun on weekends instead of everyday, as I would like to. Dual SIM PLEASE!

I would love to see a N950 with some improvements. (newer cpu, higher battery, FM-TX, HDMI-out)

Just want an n9 successor with slightly better processor and slightly bigger screen. That would be enough to keep Meego alive, raise it's popularity and get more apps developed. Then i'd be happy as long as i can get it on contract in the uk instead of forking out £400 like i did with the n9

One last thing.......alien dalvik would make it a killer device

and a better GPU

*Biger screen with same bezel. I don't like very large devices.
