Obviously WP needs Nokia more than Nokia needs WP.

Nokia minus WP = Maemo6/Meego Harmattan future

Not a huge bummer from our view at least. Or the real reviews Ive read.

Elop can restrict whatever he wants but the N9 will find itself in the hands of those who want one. Unless someone is seriously challenged, WP7/800/Searay will not be considered an alternative.

I'm not attending Nokia World but can someone please throw at shoe at that man? I will start a fund for bail if any arrests are made.

Maybe so - but this is contrary to what Elop said Nokia would do when exactly this concern was raised with him (or his email bot) a month or so ago.

Have a look at my thread about QtDevDays, for those of you who are interested. I've started pushing information there, and plan to continue doing so until tomorrow Wednesday afternoon.
I'll update the original post for more visibility.
Looking forward to get some feedback.

and amazon are selling it, just depends on the country your in but i don't fancy €709 for a 64gb from Germany.
True, but I was just poking fun at MR Elop's original reply to a message I sent him earlier this summer

"We do expect to have N9 available through some online resellers."

To which he was referring to UK availability .

I was tempted to invite him round for tea in Hammersmith as I am off work this week.

bastards are always careful with how they word things. EXPECT, SOME

as bad as politicians for saying something and nothing at the same time and committing to nothing while looking like they are. wouldnt be surprised if those SOME only received stock after the first wp7 nokia is on sale.

It would've been nice if Harmattan had this out-of-the-box, sigh:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/24/i...nd-hdmi-turns/
Host-mode USB may still be possible on the N9...
But the greatest hackers in the world won't be able to add HDMI or MHL for us
I wonder if we'll eventually work-out a way to stream HD games via 802.11an + DLNA?
Doubtful....

Jalyst my friend, I have learnt something valuable (perhaps too late) that instead of waiting, hoping and expecting Nokia (or any manufacturer for that matter) to produce the one device that meets all my requirements - I should go find what does the most.

I will be getting an android device with the ICS (perhaps the nexus) and running it with my N9. I'm too impatient to be loyal to one device/OS and will tolerate the short comings of Android the same way i will tolerate the shortcomings of Harmattan/N9.
