Just updated to 0.7.9
I used minimos' #987 code :
dpkg --ignore-depends=meecast-applet-enable -r meecast

Perfect result :
Meecast 0.7.6 = uninstalled
Activating Applet = still here.

Version 0.7.9 was installed from openrepos,
Meecast is now working perfectly, updatng forecasts as it should.

Thanks to minimos & vasvlad.

You're might be looking at the wrong publisher repository. Look at vasvlad repository instead of appsformeego.

Nevertheless MeeCast icon at the feeds screen showed "NO DATA", until i manually updated the weather. Update interval is 15 minutes. Version is 0.7.6.

If MeeCast can't initiate connection, what is logic for an auto update? For example, i have 15 minutes interval. Say, MeeCast will try to update at 12:00, 12:15, 12:30 and so on. If connection would be down at 12:15 though it would be up at 12:14 and 12:16, does weather update fail? Lets say i am so unlucky that all 24 hours/7 days MeeCast can't exactly spot connection times, weather will stay outdated, isn't it?

So, please tell me about manual invoking to be sure that update will be started while connection is up and in use.
Try to execute this file for weather forecast updating

Can you try the commands:
Code:
apt-get policy meecast
apt-get -f policy
The first command will tell you which repositories the device sees for meecast package (and its latest seen version).
Among others these lines should appear:
Code:
    0.7.9 0
        500 http://harmattan.openrepos.net personal/main Packages
The second command will output in better details which repos are enabled.
These lines should be part of the output, if you properly enabled vasvlad's openrepo
Code:
500 http://harmattan.openrepos.net personal/main Packages
     release v=1.0,o=openrepos.net,a=personal,n=personal,l=vasvlad @ openrepos,c=main
     origin harmattan.openrepos.net
