Not exactly, no. The update is dependent on the regional variant of the firmware you're using, and which of the Akamai server farms you're connecting to to download updates. You'll be directed to the most local one based on IP address, and updates can be pushed out to the server farms on a regional basis.

Guys, you don't get it. Yesterday, we blamed Vodafone. Today it's the turn of the BBC. Tomorrow will be Gordon Brown, and Friday, in a moment of nostalgia for Wake-Up-to-Wogan we will blame the Russians. Over the weekend, it'll be the Archbishop of Canterbury. If we're still waiting next week, there'll be a whole new schedule including migrant workers, daily mail readers and Amy Winehouse. Keep checking this thread to see who you should be blaming.

Seriously, it could be days. Just Keep Calm and Carry On.

Thanks. Still not convinced this is illegal. Annoying, yes. But illegal, no.

and appologies for going off subject....fills in the time while we wait for the new update.

UK N900 user here (obtained through Nokia UK) who flashed global 1.1. I was going to wait for UK 1.1.1 and flash that but after my N900 rebooted twice this morning whilst listening to music & trying another app at the same time I thought I'd update.

Done an OTA to global 1.1.1. Got the operation failed message a few times during initial install, but the device has started up fine after that. Some comments on features for me that others have experienced problems with:

Flash - working fine
Scrolling - seems faster
Battery life - too early to tell
Music/Videos - playing fine
Speed with media player running - quicker but also seemingly a little jerky

3 very important things to note though when blame is involved:#

1. Don't blame it on sunshine
2. Don't blame it on moonlight
& 3. Don't blame it on good times

I blame the weather. Ice on the fibre-optic cables, wrong kind of snow, leaves on the packets, ...
