I have fun with this app, and I thank the developer.
I am wondering what the "Elgato EyeTv Keyset 1" is based on. I have both an EyeTV 200 and 500, and I get no response at all when trying this out. They are older models though, and I wonder if this is only for a newer one. I'd really love to be able to use my N900 with EyeTV.
Thanks.

Talking of which... no Sony VCR?! In fact there are precious few VCRs on the list. Why is that? Are the keysets difficult to find or just not worth bothering with?

There are three Sony VCR keysets and a number of VCR keysets.

Can I point out again for clarity:-

"Select Keyset" is for a list of all the keysets in Pierogi.
"Browse Partial Device List" is a list of devices proven to work completely on a keyset and added by the community to the wiki page here

-- Edit:

Also while I am here ...
@Copernicus - I think the best way to add the service remotes is a hidden QSetting. Either with no GUI access or a QAction on the Preferences page with a BLOCK CAPITAL dialog warning/disclaimer.
Maybe you could even have the option be removed on close to be even more safe.

Not in mine (1.0.0 from extras-testing).

Edit: Dowloaded and installed 1.1 from extras-devel offline, as I don't want to add devel to my repos list. It has changed quite a lot and indeed, three Sony VCRs have appeared on the list.

Sorry, on Version 1.1.25 here.
There have been a lot of changes since version 1.0.0

Hey, I'm slowly getting back to things again after another long period of hiding beneath a rock. Sorry for being away so long. I'm going to once again try and clean up the existing code to make a version for the extras repository; mostly, this should involve getting the documentation back into shape. I'd also like to clean up the UI a bit, but I suspect that'll take a bit of effort; I've really left the current version in extras-devel a bit too long.

Yeah, I think that does make sense. And it shouldn't take too much trouble to implement that way; I've got all the service commands built-in to Pierogi already, I've just never set up a UI for them. Probably the first thing to do in dev after preparing a release candidate of the code.

(Also, I've been playing around with the Sailfish SDK a little bit, to see what a Jolla Pierogi might look like. Dunno if there will be an Jolla with an IR port, or a Jolla other half any time soon, but I should be ready if/when that happens. If anyone cares, anyway. )

I've got an EyeTV 250 myself; it was one of the first devices I tried to control when I started putting Pierogi together. Unfortunately, I was never able to find anything other than the one keyset I've got, and I never have been able to control my 250. One of these days I'm going to finally set up an LIRC server on one of my boxes with an IR receiver and find out exactly what commands my remote is sending...

I'm getting back to doing requests finally.

I have added support for the Motorola VIP1853 / VIP1903 into Pierogi following the instructions on the links provided (thanks!). (I've plugged it in as "Motorola STB Keyset 2".) This remote is using a "CanalSat" protocol, which is a slightly odd modification of the RC5 protocol. Most likely, I will manage to get some aspect of the protocol wrong on the first try, so if it doesn't work for you, please holler at me.

I'm not sure when I'll have the next iteration of Pierogi available, but hopefully soon...

Unfortunately, Sony seems to have been dropping IR controls from their more recent cameras (including the Alpha 58). There is a "cable remote" available for that camera, but apparently no option for an untethered remote.

Sorry for the late reply!

The only problem I have is that I can't access setting menu as the profile doesn't has SET MENU button. Can you help me by creating a RX-V596 keysets?
As it turns out, Pierogi's "Yamaha Audio Keyset 2" has all the key commands you're looking for already listed internally. The problem is that I haven't put together a user interface to access them. For the most part, I've been concentrating mostly on video devices, and so the audio controls have taken a back seat. (Plus, audio manufacturers seem to cram three or four times as many buttons on a given remote control than anyone else does, making my job harder. )

I'll see about extending the UI once I've gotten a release candidate of Pierogi set up...

Sorry for the late reply!
