But the phone and the micro SD don't appear in finder. That's a lot of a problem as my music is all in itunes on the mac

Is there any way to see the SD card in the phone - not seen a file manager in the Jolla store, so assume I need an android one

Suggestions for accessing the SD card from the mac would be welcome - I want to get some use from the music app:-)
My windows 7 PC sees the phone but not the SD card. The only way I get stuff onto that is to mount it in a card reader.

Netflix and Yle Areena (notable for Finns) missing. Both are VoD/streaming services. I have contacted both Netflix and Yle. After talking with Netflix I also contacted Jolla about getting Netflix Android app for Jolla. Yle hasn't yet replied anything.

Yandex.Store app has worked fine except two problems: 1) there was probably some kind of resource exhaustion which was crashing/killing the app. I was able to resolve that by closing all other running apps. Haven't seen it since. 2) mobile data connection problem. You have to use temporarily WLAN to fix it. Based on comments on this thread, this problem can be seen also on other Android apps.

Search doesn't necessarily show the most relevant result in the top.

In Terminal app run commands:

cd
ln -s /run/user/100000/media/sdcard .

(Notice the dot at the end of ln) After that you can access the microSD card with USB MTP (Jolla's normal PC connectivity) by going to directory "sdcard".

WFM. No warranty

Edit: (And you probably can escape to the root directory of Jolla by similar commands but I haven't tested this. There is danger that you can brick your Jolla with escaping to root and then going around and fiddling, especially if the permissions and priviledges are not right.)

just search for "private exchange hosting" for example. maybe you are lucky and your internet-provider even offers such a service for his customers included in the price.
i use this, for example: https://sync.t-online.de/
it's your own private exchange account, so it should do all you want and be usable on Jolla.

maybe there are no absolutely cost-free services out there, but i don't understand, why everybody thinks, an email account should always be cost-free anyway...

Although there is a backup option I cannot find where it is saved when connected to my PC. There is also no option to back up to SD card yet

Saw that on your blog. looks like Mac isn't supported without resorting to command line just yet.

If I start with a completely fresh formatted SD card, where do I need to put music? Unfortunately all mine is in itunes on my mac, so not many alternatives

The backups seem to be in .vault directory in nemo user's home directory. It seems to be some kind of Git based solution (similar to git-annex).
