Yes can all the UK "where/why/how/when can I get the new firmware" please go and open another thread and repeat the same questions over and again in there.

Thanks!

We don't need another thread for the UK folks, there's no-one else left in this one. It makes more sense to open new threads for specific problems (if any) with the new firmware, rather than expecting them to be added here.

Besides which, after the great shipping thread of 2009 it's getting to be a tradition that the long threads end with we UK posters hanging around waiting for something to arrive.

Perhaps it's a good thing for us UK users to get them last so we know what sort of problems we will be getting especially things to do before upgrade ie free up rootfs etc

Wasn't showing up on my Update list either in UK. Had to manually install it via MaemoFlasher - lets see if it feels any different...

Has anyone noticed any major differences or improvements since the update...

i've been using an export set n900 with global firmware flashed. so far no visible differences after the update. menus seem snappier and my battery life has improved, i can get by a full working day with 3.5g and IM connectivity, whereas previously i would get half of that.

Or it could just be that everyone else is patient and don't keep saying the same old things again and again.

Additionally I'm willing to place a bet that most of the people who feel their N900 is snappier/smoother is purely down to a reboot rather than anything to do with the update.

No it`s not.....before I could barely watch a megavideo or veoh flash content without stuttering....now it`s smooth as silk!
