Well It's proved non-trivial to fix, and the problem is just very frustrating. The version in the repository is the same as in the other package. Source builds without errors both in the sdk and the extras autobuilder, but the one compiled with the autobuilder version segfaults.

If you feel you could help you can apt-get source wesnoth and build it in your sdk. The latest extras logs can be found here: https://garage.maemo.org/builder/fre..._1.6.5-maemo7/
And strace tail here: http://pastebin.com/MhrwrxL3

I work on this every now and then when I have the time, but it's slow going.

Thanks for this fantastic app.
I noticed that the game takes a long time to start - loading files, etc.
Is this normal? Or some problem with my device?

yes, the loading takes a lil time u have to wait, the game is great but i'd rather a non-strategy game insted of waiting for jack to call his buddies in the pentagonic castle and sarah to summon her elfs from ireland..but great game

Reason for non functional binary seems to be -O2 build flags used in autobuilder. You can see from the beginning of the build log how it's set. You should pass the C(XX)FLAGS parameter with -O0 or -O1 to configure and it should work.

/usr/bin/wesnoth symlink is not removed when package is uninstalled. I recommed that it's just dropped because it's not needed and files shouldn't be created in postinst script anyway.

Data package seem to be install files in wrong place. Binary is looking for them in /opt/wesnoth/share but data is installed to /opt/maemo. Oh and data package shouldn't be visible in Application Manager, I doubt there are people who would like to install data without binary

Thanks, I noticed the -O2 but couldn't get the stupid thing to set the flags properly. I'd be very happy if you took over the maintaining, since I'm a little swamped with work/kids, and also suck at packaging

Another question - after the loading the actual game plays fine but the messages at bottom are very very slow. They take a long time just to display. Anything to fix this?
