Thanks justmemory.
Fennec 17 too...
I'm glad I could help; thanks are not for me because I just shared a link from a hungarian forum-mate.

Thanks very much for the link and to the one who made this great archive.
That said with some testing of chromium we still need a current browser, no matter how slow, to have even an emergency browser. The problem is the CPU demanding mess that is modern self configuring websites and ads.

Chromium is an extra option...
outdated..yes..

There must be something out there in the wide wide world by now that is efficient, quick and is slimmer and more effective than the standard behemoths that run the browser world today.
That are so flipping big and wastefully top heavy...
that is an alternate choice.
one that has at least ...hope ...some possibility for the n900.

One would think...

One would hope anyway...(ok now I said "hope" )

Hmm..hmmm fennec 17 ...welly well well...
been doing some study ...
pity Alopex didn't work out ..(in the end ..."will break all the other applications using qt-components-hildon "...)

I use opera mobile a lot; it fulfills my needs most of the time. If not, I use midori from under chrooted kali - it has acceptable speed but has limitations too. Lack of memory... sad...

I have also used Opera Mobile, and it does support TLS 1.2 to some extent (Opera Mobile version 12 at least).

Of course RAM is our biggest problem

Too true, I end up carrying around a LineagoOS tablet just so I can check the bus arrival prediction website. I used to be able to use MicroB for the exact site but upgrades for... better?
I wonder if spoofing the user agent for a modern browser would fix that site?

What site do you have troubles with?

Pretty much all of them. What sites do you not have problems with is the more relevant question. TMO is one of the very few.

It really depends on what you need the browser for and the level of inconvenience you can tolerate. Nearly all sites I am interested in I can still browse with the N900.
Of course if you expect the browser to be as fast as your desktop the N900 will be a disappointment.
biketool seems to be only depending on one site for his tablet use so by sharing the link to the site people might give alternatives (e.g. the first bus arrival prediction website presented by google https://thebuslive.com/ is working fine for me)

I think it is time for me to again....
go straight to Hell.
(I am sure there must be a few who have been hoping and waiting )

I'm going to play with Charon ...
mess around with Limbo ...
and dive back into Inferno.
Last updated version was just 2 years ago...
Not bad for recently recent.

I got it running fine on one of my n800 and n810's a while ago...
I never had the time to REALLY mess with it ...
I think maybe now it is time I did...

I bet it would fly on the n900.
and Charon may be a good browser alternative ..(haven't messed with it either.... but ...ooooh! sounds exciting....)
