if we get a replacement Vmware from Garnet, would you help me through the setup of created my Palm user id and then the directory structure?

I just gave up on it before as I really didn't understand anything in the terminal but thanks to this thread and these folks, I am starting to get a little of it.

Not to mention, now that sooooo many thangs have changed for our n810s recently I cannot even think about getting rid of it!

thx
When the time comes, sure, I'd like to help.

Fair warning though, I've got probably the most unique and complicated setup than anyone else I've seen posting here so far.

If we get the next update, I wanted to go back through anyway since it takes 45 seconds to only fire up an 8 meg gvm.store but with an 800 meg virtual storage card. I need to cut out many of the repeating med apps I have.

I don't get much time to get on these forums like I use to, but I'll definitely make it a point once we get an updated Garnet VM.

Tear web browser squibbed on me and reset the tablet itself.

I've now got that metalayer-crawler thingy running again and I'm hearing sound also.

I've got such a stupid love/hate thing for this Scid app. How can I remove it all from the tablet?

This is what I entered into Xterm to have it installed:

root
apt-get install libvorbisenc2
cd /media/mmc1/Scid
dpkg -i tcl8.5_8.5.8-1_armel.deb
dpkg -i tk8.5_8.5.8-1_armel.deb
dpkg -i libsnack2-alsa_2.2.10-dfsg1-9_armel.deb
dpkg -i libtk-img_1.3-release-8_armel.deb
dpkg -i scid_4.0-maemo2_armel.deb

Thanks Gerb!

dpkg -r scid_4.0-maemo2_armel should get it all for you.

I'm not sure about the dependencies though, just don't pull a --force ever.

You can also copy large libraries / executables or other files on the mmc1 or mmc2 and then symlinking to it which saves precious main storage.

I just finished moving today and it looks like I won't have internet until June 7th.

Nuts.

Just found this thread while looking through the last couple of years posts. Has anyone found anymore ways of saving space? I read on another thread about linking programs stored on MMC2, has anyone other than Kroll tried this?

I'm cutting more stuff from my N810 than the government can on public services!
