the link you gave doesn't work even when loading manually (like clicking on link above from within browser)

For php to work, the websever which that file is on (facebook) is required to parse and process the file before sending response as text/htm mime type... instead its returning Unknown because php isnt setup on server.

I think your trying to use dbus-switchboard on the client for a file that should be processed at the server level. Let me know if i misunderstood what your trying to do.

A similar use which would make sense is opening htm or swf in microb or other browser, since they process on the client. But microb is already associated with those and it does a pretty good job.

If you are php developer you might want to xref php files with code editor for when clicking on them in the file manager.

Also browser is hildon so you'd have to use shim script like i have media player handler set up sothat its passed using dbus-send

seems the issues is a recent change over at facebook:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=25552

and not something related to dbus-switcher or similar.

and im glad, as i thought i had broken something

Canola
Abiword
GPE Audio Player

TIA

I can't comment on Canola or GPE, but maemo Abiword "works" with:

Handler name: Abiword
Handler command: abiword "%params%"

Change the xref for .doc from Antiword to Abiword.

If you want to use Easy Debian Abiword, you have to use the following:

Handler name: Debian Abiword
Handler command: debbie abiword "%params%"

I personally prefer Debian Abiword, because it can open Word docs that crash maemo Abiword. I don't know why that is the case, since they both seem to be the same version, but ...

If maemo Abiword is installed you may also have to enable the mime type for (msdoc?) on the defaults tab of dbus-switchboard.

Debian abiword is nice and stable so as kind of a challenge i made an 100meg ext2 abiword appliance to go with my other ext2 appliances.

Not sure anyone would be interested since you can run it in debian, but assuming you wanted to keep a semi-lean 100meg ext2 appliance for abiword you could even associate it as a handler by using the command :
'Abiword (Ext2Run)' 'ext2run /media/mmc2/fsimgs/abiword-100meg.ext2 %params%

Of course i ripped of my chroot script from an older qole chroot script so it doesnt work with files in /var/tmp (like email attachments) but i will fix that in future isomount package revision.

I'll do some testing with GPE Audio player to see if that works ok.
