the house I am currently sleeping in has thick walls (being an old italian house), and my UMTS provider won't penetrate those walls, but the GPRS/EDGE signal does (and from a roaming partner).
So he's still right in my case :-p
The higher bandwidth provided by UMTS won't penetrate the walls.

i meant "have to" in the second sense. i thought maybe there was a small chance it'd be free cuz sprint released their evdo service for free with amazon's kindle ebookreader device thingy, but then again the only thing the kindle could do was buy amazon ebooks.

Will other than US Wimax version be made?
I leave in Brussel where we have "Clearwire" a pre-wimax provider. Clearwire operates at licensed 3.5GHz frequencies

No such development has been announced, confirmed, or denied.
We can be pretty sure that it won't happen till after the US version, at any rate. It's quite possible, if the N810W is sufficiently successful, that Nokia expands into other popular bands; I don't know how widely used 3.5 GHz is; if it's Brussels only, not much chance; if it's 95% of Europe and half of China, it's pretty likely.

Its clear that nokia will support Lte rather then Wimax....... that suggests the lacklusture nokia interest and commitment to the n810 wme

If your doubt was correct, sachin, then NSN would not be making WiMAX base stations.
