I hope the new tablet is more of a 770 -> 800 leap, rather than a 800 -> 810 leap. I want new features, without making painful tradeoffs... For example, "Is a slide-out keyboard more important than two full-size SD slots?! Is a better screen and built-in GPS better than FM radio and a rotatable camera?"

Yes

built-in GPS better than FM radio and a rotatable camera?
I would have said yes (and indeed was very happy to see it originally), but as it's so crap I think not. BT GPS all the way.

Fremantle will include X.org.
X.org include multipointer support.

Will Fremantle support multitouch ala iPhone?

Just a thought...

Personally I think that the n800 is much better than the n810. The two full size SD cards and the price difference more than make it worthwhile to purchase an n800 over the 810. That being said I haven't owned an 810 : )

There was a Fremantle pre-alpha SDK released recently, hopefully good to raise some kind of interest more useful than the noise generally surrounding blurry pictures. People scanning the kernel & low level code had apparently some fun. I just wonder whether someone went through more components, though.

You're becoming as big a tease as I am, Quim.

Congratulation on your move to the Dark Side.

If you are asking, then my answer would be "YES"
(at least to the slide out keyboard and a better screen part).
But again, its just me.

I would want the successor to have the best of both worlds though instead of being exclusive of each other. That way it makes it more versatile (but sadly more expensive too). Its now upto Nokia to decide the balance.

I would love to check under the hood of the Fremantle SDK, but again I am not that knowledgeable. That why I only stick to "I would like this, I would like that" kind of threads.
