A development version 1.0~beta~svn20110130 is now in extras-devel. It includes the new fancier table view (you can still use the old one, just select "classic" from the settings) and a new feature, a driving log, which allows you to record the trips you make.

The driving log uses the GPS to measure the distance you drive. It automatically obtains the address of your start and end places from openstreetmap. It includes a cache for the places where you have been earlier and if found, uses the place from the cache instead of the network. You can give aliases for the places in the cache, so it can replace "Mystreet, Mytown, Mycountry" with "Home", for example. There is no map view, but you can open Nokia maps on the place. I might add other map apps.

Warning! When you first run it, your database structure is automatically updated to include the new tables required for the new driving log feature. Take a backup of your fuelpad.db before running the new version for the first time. If you don't know how to do it, this version is not for you.

Note! This version will never go to extras-testing. This is a preview for those who want to help in the development. I have been using this and earlier unreleased versions for about a month now correcting the bugs. However, this is not ready featurewise and there may be bugs.
