You need to add it to your playlist first, then click on the ply button... that works for me

Ohh.. For me it works perfect on the n900 though some of the buttons are not activated yet. Wish you get the playlist working soon.

@Dotblank: Just tried out the desktop build(which gets built by autobuilder), and everything seemed to work good except:
a) You cant use the keyboard(using a laptop if that matters). It does bring up a virtual keyboard, like in Maemo
b) Playing anything doesn't seem to work, IIRC the first queued song should start playing immediately but I don't hear any sound
c) Streaming/Downloading progress popup don't appear

Which version of groove.. recent versions of groove are maemo specific only. I have a ppa package for ubuntu https://launchpad.net/~eliaswoods/+archive/groove.
