Just install the three packages here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=96
no need for sqlite3 or mc-tool.
Then use the accounts menu to set up your account.
dpkg -r libpurple0* dpkg -r telepathy-haze* dpkg -r im-providers-additional*

Either use the programs menu or
apt-get remove im-providers-additional telepathy-haze libpurple

Are you root? Items in this folder require root permissions. If you've tinkered with the aol.service before it may be the reason for this.
I doubt GenericPlugin uses encrypted storage. Think this is what a binary plugin is needed for.
