Try to correct your permissions for /home/user
Code:
sudo gainroot
chown -R user:users /home/users
I posted the output of ls -al for the MohammadAG directory, which was the faulty one. My /home/user has the right permissions. But thanks for the help anyway - after changing owner of /MohammadAG the configuration file will save properly and settings remain applied. I suspected all along it was a permissions problem, I just couldn't find the conf dir.

Thus, although MohammadAG is a legend around here (and rightfully so!), I second Estel's suggestion to change the name of the conf dir to make it easier to find.

Edit: I just saw post #938 from back in April that deals with this very question and directory. Hanging my head in shame for asking questions first and reading later... Sorry.

Chances are that if one directory has wrong permissions, that there are more files and folders somewhat borked, therefore the command to get them all...

Problem is that libplayback & ohm disabling jack bias switch (which disable headset button).

Now I'm trying to find way how to enable libplayback & jack bias together...

There are still some flaws and missing details, and OMP can be easily installed and live peacefully next to the stock player, so I don't want to rush anything. It also might be a good idea to upload it to extras-testing for more extensive testing and feedback before forcing a faulty or inferior replacement on every CSSU user.

Some of those got "synchronised" with OMP, but some didn't. So, is there a way to get my remaining files readable by OMP ? Apart from opening them through Filebox ?
The simplest solution could be to reset Tracker database with "tracker-processes -r" and hope that this time it picks up those files (keep in mind that you'll lose the history of recently added tracks, most played, etc.).

Sometimes I encounter a problem with Tracker not reading metadata properly in a few tracks (they show up in unknown artists) and then I force Tracker to recheck them by executing "touch /path/to/file". Perhaps that works also for omitted files.

MAFW doesn't allow such adjustment and I'm currently not planning to modify MAFW.

There's no automatic searching, but you can manually change covers by selecting an appropriate option after long-clicking the cover in Now Playing.

Are you connected to the Internet at the time of starting the video? If so, what podcast is that?

Hmmm, I spent 5 minutes today trying to reproduce it with various combinations of headset and playback states, but it it worked flawlessly for me.

@gidzzz: is there any chance when lyrics server is down, to just show the message "Lyrics server is down" instead of this ugly backtrace?

Sure, I can't believe I haven't come up with this by myself after so much confusion caused by downtime.

Aren't ALL the standard folders in MyDocs on emmc hidden by default (which has always struck me as totally weird)? If so, I don't think they'd get ignored, because the file manager does show them (Maemo stock fm shows them without a period, in Filebox it's there).
really, the dot is already there! It's shown in Filebox, or in a PC's file manager, when hooking N900 up to a PC in mass storage mode. Tracker does not ignore these folders inspite of the dot in front. Therefore I'm pretty sure it wouldn't do so if I added a second one.
Maemo filemanager does not show the folder names with a dot, but I also don't know of a way to rename them in the Maemo fm.

Where would I find trackercfg? Is it in extras-devel?

Is "making it ignore a directory" (by adding a . to the dir name in the front) the same as "stopping it from indexing one of your sources"? If yes, does that mean I get slowed down if I do it?
thanks, Ben
