Yea, I would think it would be a tough sell. For me, I might pay it if accessaries were availble that made is it compatiable with hwkb, something like easy debian with repositories could be used as well as the other great apps developed for maemo. Then I would have something like a mobile computer made in the image of the n900 which is what I really want.

On the otherhand, if that is not the case it will be a tough sell for me, especially without a phone plan, (here I am taking the view more so of a typical consumer in US, my apologies if you are misrepresented so please do speak up!) since I am left with a device that, yes, looks very nice, that is probably good for phone, internet use, social contacts and entertainment. But then there is a lot more competition here. The Samsung infuse has a nice 4.5 inch screen. The droid 3 is to be released in mid July and that has a 4inch screen and, (warning for those with keyboard envy and felt forsaken by the lack of one for the n9 you might not want to read the following) has a 5 row keyboard. Oh yes, for what it is worth, did I mention dual core... My guess is that you can get these phones for about 200 or less with a phone plan. While you can and should argue about the real merit of all these features and the manufacured quality of these devices and so forth. My main point is that a lot of interesting stuff will be availble in the short term and it is a long time between now and September. Plenty of time to decide if you want to shell out $600-$750.

The Droid 3 looks pretty sweet, was tempted but the thought of having to use Android again sends shivers down my spine.

Picked up a Desire S recently to once and for all decide my thoughts on Android, I just ended up swearing at it and gave it to my friend who loves it. But then hes new to smartphones..

750$ in this moment trade is about 530€. This would be the price I'm ready to pay but since Finland is a funny place, here 1$ of electronics equal to 1€, therefore we have 750€ + 22% VAT = 915€ for 64 GB version....

I'm waiting for the worst but still hoping for the best .

I'll argue more with the special merits of carriers subsidies.
Last time I checked with t-mobile uk, it is much cheper to buy the phone separately with a sim only plan than to take a subsidized phone with a plan.
Like, for the same phone and the same plan features, at the end of the 24 month of the contract, the sim only option was 200£ cheaper (plus, the contract is one month only so you can change anytime).

In France there's no correct sim only plans, and I can't say for the rest of the world, but here (uk) carriers subsidies are nothing but a pretty expensive consumer credit with free vendor lock-in.

You lost me at:
"Under the cover, the handset uses MeeGo instead of Windows Phone which previous Nokia's have ran off, making it stand apart from the rest."
edit: snicker
edit: First! I called first first!

And they seem to really be on top of their game...

" Under the cover, the handset uses MeeGo instead of Windows Phone which previous Nokia's have ran off, making it stand apart from the rest. "

Looks like someone beat me to it

I thought the other typo was far more sniker worthy.
The Nokia N9 is due to hit the shelves later this year and Mobile Fun is pleased to announce tit will be stocking the handset and a Number of Nokia N9 accessories.

I can't list 1000, being new to Android myself, but I really look forward to seeing your version of the Nuance program FlexT9 Text Input, which has impressive speech-to-text.
Well, clearly there's can't be 1000+ excellent quality apps/games if you can't immediately name them all IMMEDIATELY! :P Heh Sometimes the debates here crack me up.

Finally, my N900/the new N9 will be as cool as all the iPhones.
Elop said SWIPE interface. Not WIPE.

Ah yes, sometimes the old ways ARE best.

Certainly wouldn't want to execute the app as a ringtone notifier. Certainly not during meetings, in the movie theater or during a wonderful first date.
