It didn't work that way with the N97, with many Amazon orders beating the Nokia orders.

well if they cancel at this point and go with Nokia, those really will be getting there phones after the holidays. They'd be at the back of the line.

Mine says the same thing. I think it's there because they just went into holiday shopping mode and it says that for everything that doesn't have an estimated ship date early enough for the package to arrive by Christmas.

Since there is no estimated ship date for the N900, it stands to reason that the statement is meaningless.

Those threads are filled with posts from folks getting it from dozens of places. I don't see what's so wrong with a thread about a major vendor. Folks ordering from other places might want a Dell thread or Nokia store thread as well so they don't have to weed through a ton of postings about Amazon if they aren't using it.
