The Galaxy Tab is on Bell's 'mobility' landing page!

http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpWls_Landing.page

They don't have a dedicated page right now, but it's only a matter of time. Rumors say that it will be officially released tomorrow!

Too bad my finances won't allow me to buy it just yet!

Now this is funny (albeit unrelated)
The Bitter Breakup: What Happens When Consumers Dump Their Brands?
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...1115151948.htm

It's just like a bad breakup: People get emotional when they end a relationship with a brand. A new study in the Journal of Consumer Research examines what happens when people turn their backs on the brands they once loved.
It seems that romantic relationships and device ownership are not so different afterall.

I just had a Galaxy Tab in my hands 5 minutes ago...
I would probably get one if it wasn't so expensive. I think I'll wait for something more powerful and probably with MeeGo on it.

Funny that the guy at Harvey Norman was telling me that for now they only sell it subsidised with a plan, because it can make phone calls

They will only sell it outright after Xmas, but it was already marked as $999 AUD.

I didn't realize there had gotten to be so many replies, so admittedly I haven't read them all, so forgive me if I am repeating anything that has already been said. I bought a Tab Friday for T-Mo USA and got the even more + data plan before they got rid of it. So far I am enjoying it for the most part, but honestly I prefer my N900 and Maemo for a lot of things. I like the e-mail on the tab much better, and I have fallen in love with swype, but the multitasking just isn't quite as good. It's really annoying to have to go to the home screen to swich to another program. I really like the size of the tab, and it'll be great for keeping me occupied between classes when I go back to school next year.

Me too, but I don't consider that 'spending money' .

We'll see in a few weeks, though!

No problem! I've repeated myself more than once, and I probably post more than anyone in here!

Thanks for the account of the Galaxy Tab! I'm glad that you're enjoying it, and can understand that a GNU/Linux has certain aspects that are more desirable for some.

Of course, Android is not without its strengths, one of which is plenty of Apps! There's a 'task manager' called Itching Thumbs that allows you to double tap the home key to re-visit backgrounded apps. It's palm pre-like in its execution. Similarly you can hold the home button down to access recent apps (AFAIK).

You may want to try out Firefox Mobile Beta for Android if you haven't already. It's supposed to provide a more 'MicroB' experience, and has extension support. Other browsers include the recently released Opera Mobile -- which is extremely smooth scrolling but lacks flash support at the moment!

Plus there are all sorts of apps and games worth exploration!

Let us know how it's going!
