To me the USB port looks no different.
However there are three other changes.
The slider merchanism is a lot more secure.
The stylus is a LOT stiffer
The keyboard surround is more secure.
I think I will definately file the prongs on my mains sharger. That has by far the most aggressive grip in the socket and it was when removeing that charger that the socket came out too.
No sign of manufaturing date beneath the battery BTW

As far as I am aware the company in the UK that looks after the repair process for Nokia only replaces with refurbished/returned phones. It is highly unlikely that anybody would recieve an entirely new device.

I have just posted a complaint email to Nokia Europe. Apparently my phone is in a care centre "somewhere" abroad, waiting for exchange, but there's no stock. Since 2 weeks there's no stock, may be even longer! My patience is gone.
I have urged them to resolve the situation by the end of next week, and tbh with you guys Nokia has truly ruined the n900 for me. Will *most likely* demand my money back and move somewhere else. Never thought it would get this far

I'm assuming that my device is sitting in some repair centre somewhere in Europe, they have decided to replace it and are now waiting for a refurb they can return to me. That's what I'm thinking. Quite frankly, I'm getting more and more agitated after weeks of waiting.
